Blogging – 6 Tips on How to Make More Money With Your Blogs

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

Every day more and more blogs are created online. Unfortunately lots of these blogs make little if any money even though they contain lots of great informative content. A couple of the main reasons for this is that they either have very little traffic or the blog owner has not monetized their blog. If you want to make money with your blog then both of these factors are very important. Once you get traffic to your blog you need to optimize it so that you can make money.

Here are six tips on how to make money with your blog.

1. Sell Advertising Space.

Selling advertising space on your blog is great because you can get a regular income per month once you have set it up. If your blog gets lots of traffic then it is fairly easy to sell ad space. People have even been known to ask to advertise on some blogs. However if you have a new blog then ads like AdSense are a good alternative way of earning money from your advertising space. AdSense is free and now has ads that are well targeted to the content of your blog. Basically with AdSense you get paid when people click on your ads as opposed to selling ad space where you get paid for having a certain ad in a certain place for a certain period of time.

2. Advertise Your Products or Services.

Yes that’s right market your products or services on your blog. It is amazing how many blog owners do not use their blogs to directly market their products or services. Just because you use your blog to voice your opinion to the world does not mean you should not market your products on it as well. If you write informative posts and people read them then you should also look of creating customers out of these people. If you do not have your own products then think about what you can offer your website visitors that may be of interest to them. Remember most people go online to either find out information or to solve their problems.

3. Ask for Reader Support in the Way of Contributions.

After all it does cost your money, time and effort to keep your blog full of good informative content so why not ask for support to keep it going if people like what you have to offer them. If your readers become loyal to your cause or like reading your information many of them will be thinking about ways in which to repay you. So add a contribution box to each page of your blog.

4. Sell Other People’s Products or Services.

Monetize your blog by offering your readers affiliate products or other people’s products that compliment your blog content. Use products from Clickbank, PayDotCom, Amazon or Commission Junction all of which have free affiliate programs. Consider writing and submitting articles to article directories about your blog and the products you recommend so that you get paid a commission when someone buys what you are offering on your blog.

5. Communicate With Your Blog Visitors.

Once you have a following on your blog for example via RSS feeds then use your blog to regularly communicate with these subscribers and as well as any new readers. The more people know about you, your business and your products then the more likely they are to refer others to your blog.

6. Regularly Update Your Blog.

You need to give your readers a reason to come back to your blog so what better way to do it than to regularly update it with fresh and informative content. Regular blog updates also help you rank higher in the search engine results for your keywords which means more organic traffic to your blog as well. RSS feeds also bring people back to your blog when you add new content so encourage people to sign up to them by having a prominent RSS feed button.

So the next time you create a blog think about how you can use these 6 tips to help you monetize your blog and keep your blog visitors coming back time and time again as you publish new fresh informative content. For more information on blogging and internet marketing http://www.kerriesheehan.com.

Blogging – How Important is it to Update Your Blog on a Regular Basis?

Sunday, June 6th, 2010

So how often should you update your blog?

Updating your blog automatically every hour or so with junk articles using an automatic blog posting system is not recommended but updating your blog every day or so with well written or original content is highly desirable. Having several blogs might seem like a good idea but one has to have the time or resources available to update them regularly.

Technically from a marketing and social aspect it might seem like a good idea to update or add new content to your blog to get a constant flow of traffic to your blog. However one must remember that the web spiders might send traffic to your website from content that pleases them and ranks your blog higher but people read your blog. Web spiders might like junk articles because they are keyword rich and search engine optimized but people spend money not web spiders. Ultimately you have to please your readers to make money from a business blog.

Frequently updating your blog will also allow you to get your blog pings accepted more often and have your blog listed on the front of blog directories. So you could invest in one of the many automatic blog posters that spin the articles you load up hundreds at a time to make them appear unique to the search engine spiders. My experience though has been that the readability of these articles to the potential buyer is inferior to human written unique articles and in some cases they are difficult to read and understand. My question is therefore how can you become an expert in your niche market with these junk articles?

Updating your blog regularly is also important if you use social marketing sites to spread the word about your blog in order to get traffic to your website. Social marketing however is all about human connections so your blog needs to be readable and easy to understand when these people take interest in your social network posts and visit your blog.

Having a blog is not just about making money online but is also about connecting with other blog owners who share common interests. Updating your blog will give them an incentive to visit your blog regularly, post comments and refer their readers to your blog. If you do the same to their blogs it ultimately creates lots of back links for everyone concerned and helps to rank your blog and website higher in the search engine results.

Therefore it is important to update your blog regularly with interesting and unique content that is well written and readable by humans as well as the search engine spiders to build both marketing and social marketing relationships that encourage people to return and visit your blog. Rob Benwell and Blogging to the Bank Review

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

Some say Rob Benwell is perhaps the most successful blogger on the internet today.  The proof is that Blogging to the Bank is up to it’s 3rd version in only two years. Rob really does update Blogging to the Bank on a regular basis to ensure that you are getting the lastest information to build you blog into one that generates money.

The great aspect of Blogging to the Bank is that it is for everyone.  If you already have blogs that are struggling to earn even a few dollars a month, or if you are just starting out you can pick up Rob Benwell’s program and fast track your way to generating traffic and income.

The guide contains the most comprehensive methods to generate targeted traffic to your blog.  But that is just the start Rob goes through the complete road map and calls it “The BluePrint of a Blogging Millionaire.”

Perhaps the best aspect I liked about this guide is that Rob not only shows you how to make ongoing money with a blog, but importantly shows you once you have a successful blog up and running that you also have the option to SELL the blog for six figures or more!  A lot of other guides I have reviewed missed this aspect.

Selling your blog is a great way to make money.  Some people do not always like the aspect of having to constantly update their blog sites.  But are experts in setting up blogs to ensure maximum revenue and traffic.  While not a comprehensive guide Rob has specific detail about this little known technique of ’site flipping’.

Think of it as building a basic a house and reselling. You make the site and then sell for large profits.Once you master the techniques from Blogging to the Bank you can take other blogs sites that were poorly done but have potential, fix them up, generate traffic etc and re-sell for massive profits!  You need to think of you blog as an online asset.

Another aspect that is missed by blogging guides is the importance of email list building.  Most guides fail to understand why list building is still a key aspect to make money EVEN when you have a blog.Do not assume like most people that having a blog with an RSS feed that you do not need an opt-in strategy.Blogging to the Bank details why this is important and a key component to your source of income.

What about if you do not have a blog and don’t know where to get started?Don’t stress on this, Blogging to the Bank does cater for the novice blogger with set strategies and methods on selecting the right makrets that will ensure you are in a position to earn money. It is import to understand that you need a niche market that makes sense for you.  I think that is one aspect Rob misses in this guide.

If you have no interest in the niche that you are blogging about it is going to eventually turn into a grind and this will come across in the content that you produce. This part of blogging could be a whole section. Perhaps Rob will update it in the next version of Blogging to the Bank!  It is important to have a passion about your blogs topic. From following Rob Benwell’s methods, when I have had a personal passion in the niche market I am targetting my income has been 2-3 times greater as I put more into it.This was becuase I did more, created content, word hard to get traffic and enjoyed blogging more.

Result, I got greater benefit.  It is not just about selecting profitable niches. The key point is to have a niche that produces a profit and one that you have an interest in.

For people that are also new, or even for those that already have blogs, Rob goes into specific SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques to generate traffic and ensure you have high rankings in search engines.  Updated for version 3, Rob explores specific Web 2.0 traffic generating techniques.I had not given a lot of thought to socal bookmarking as methods to generate traffic and mainly used article marketing techniques.

Rob really opened my eyses and showed me what I was missing out on.  Think more then MySpace or Facebook here.I was also introduced to many other websites that assisted in generating hundreds of visitors to my blog and other sites through the techniques.

The basics of creating your blog.  While this seems like a trivial point, it is perhaps one of the keys to ensuring your success.  Sites such as Blogger and Typepad are great platforms and allow novice users that simply want a personal blog to get up and running very quickly.

But if you want to make money blogging, Rob goes into the specifics why owning your blog with your OWN domain name is a key to success.  Rob even walks through the basics of how to register a domain and select a host provider.  It is much easier then you think and only takes a few minutes to set-up.

These are the main points that I personally appreciated from Blogging to the Bank, Rob Benwell is thanked on a daily basis for the assistance and techniques he teaches people on how to make money online.  If this is something you have struggled with or are looking to start a blog then Blogging to the Bank is a complete comprehensive guide.

Make Money From WordPress!

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

WordPress changed the way we build websites, communicate with our subscribers and clients, and sell things online. Although it started off purely as a blogging tool, WordPress has since evolved into a full-fledged publishing and marketing system.

Every day, there are thousands of new WordPress users. Although there are tons of technical documentation online, the majority of new users won’t find them useful at all. In fact, most of them prefer a non-technical, step-by-step “how to” guide to getting started. That’s why a lot of smart marketers are making tons of money selling video tutorials that teach others how to set-up, configure and use WordPress.

The only problem is that developing WordPress videos by yourself is close to being suicidal. Consider this – in the past year alone WordPress has completely changed it’s appearance and functions with every new upgrade. This means that by the time you’re done creating your video tutorials, there are already outdated. Even if you manage to sell them, you’ll be getting a lot of angry customers when these videos get outdated a few weeks down the road.

The smart solution to this problem is to get Private Label or PLR video tutorials. You may have seen a lot of shadowy figures selling them at various online forums, but generally speaking these videos tend to be inaccurate, poorly done and in some cases, obsolete. In fact the main reason why these videos were created is to sell them off cheap with Private Label rights to unsuspecting marketers like you and me.

The only good source of Private Label WordPress and blogging tutorials I’ve seen to date the one created by Gobala Krishnan.

Gobala has created a string of successful products like WordPress AdSense System and Super Affiliate Blogger, both of which contain superb video tutorials for beginners and advanced users alike. For more than two years he kept these videos to himself and make quite a fortune.

Recently however, Gobala decided to sell Private Label or PLR versions of his excellent WordPress video tutorials and blogging tips, which means that now you can buy them and use them in your own products, membership sites or as part of your coaching program. You don’t need to worry about the videos getting outdated because as a member to PLRWPVideos.com you can request for updates, and also suggest new videos. Plus, you get new videos titles every month that you can add to your existing collection, and create your own high-value products.

What I like about his site is that all the videos are carefully planned and neatly produced. Therefore they are straight to the point, relatively small in size and very user friendly. Plus, you can always choose the exact video formats you need and avoid paying for stuff that you’re never going to use anyway.

I strongly recommend you check out Gobala’s “PLR WordPress Videos” membership site here, and get you account as soon as possible before they are sold out.
